In Loving Memory of Dr. William Parker
April 22, 1925 - June 1, 2008

Dr. William C. Parker’s extensive expertise in the areas of education, dynamic leadership, human behavior, and innovative multiculturalism stems from his experience as a social worker, public school teacher/administrator, college professor/administrator, and management consultant for over 50 years.

He is the retired Vice Chancellor for Minority Affairs at the University of Kentucky. Presently, he is founder and president of PARKER & PARKER ASSOCIATES, a human resource development consultant firm, located in Lexington, Kentucky.

Dr. Parkers is the author of numerous articles and books on human behavior, managerial psychology, multiculturalism, prejudice reduction, effective parenting, mentoring, motivation, effective teaching, and leadership in education and corporate environments. He is the founder of the renowned Mandala Movement, a unique process that is designed to provide upper level training for people within the institution’s ranks to become effective Diversity Change Ambassadors (DCAs).

He is a native of Illinois and received his undergraduate and Master’s degree from Illinois State University. His Ph.D., in psychology, is from Columbia Pacific University. He has also done post-graduate work at Case Western Reserve, Princeton, Rutgers, and the University of Ghana.

His popularity speaks for itself, having provided consultant services and motivational messages to thousands all over the world. He has been a consultant to over 800 colleges and universities, 1000 public and private school systems and numerous Fortune 500 e/corporations. Over 100,000 individuals from all-over the world have enjoyed his highly reputed course. “How to Function Effectively in Corporate Environments.”

Dr. Parker has been granted over 1000 awards for outstanding service and achievement including the Most Outstanding Alumni Award from his alma mater, Illinois State University. He is also listed in Who’s Who in Black America.

He is married to Emily Miles and they are the proud parents of seven children, all college alumni, and have six grandchildren.
