After the death of my father when I was 5, Uncle Parker stepped in and became not only a father figure but a big brother, role model, life coach, mentor, listener, educator, motivator and above all, an inspirational friend.

Several years ago Parker shared his vision to have an organization and facility that could provide athletes with the resources, information and continued support system that would create a positive image, tremendous self esteem, and strong leadership skills that would last a lifetime. In 2007, his vision became a reality and The Academy for Athletes was launched.

In addition to being the visionary, Parker wrote the curriculum for The Academy. From his initial efforts, along with additional insight from our Executive Advisors, Facilitators, and Staff, The Academy propelled into action with its "kick-off" session that included the following NFL players: Giovanni Carmazzi, Irving Fryar, Rodney Hampton, Brandon Jackson, Jay Moore, Frank Moreau and Jamie Williams.

In recognizing Dr. William C. Parker for his lifelong commitment to the enrichment of every soul he could reach, we dedicate The Academy in his honor. We will truly miss his presence but his spirit will remain in our hearts throughout the journey.
